Performance Analysis of a Cognitive Radio Network Under Energy Harvesting from Primary User Emulation Attacker
The paper reports the performance of an energy harvesting cognitive radio network under primary user emulation (PUE) attack. A secondary user (SU) can harvest energy from both non-RF (wind, temperature, solar, etc.) and RF sources (RF signal of primary user (PU) and PUE attacker). RF signal harvesti...

Zusammenfassung: | The paper reports the performance of an energy harvesting cognitive radio network under primary user emulation (PUE) attack. A secondary user (SU) can harvest energy from both non-RF (wind, temperature, solar, etc.) and RF sources (RF signal of primary user (PU) and PUE attacker). RF signal harvesting is completely reliant on sensing decisions. A SU accesses the PU channel following a hybrid access scheme. Analytical formulations for SU’s harvested energy, channel capacity, and throughput are derived based on the considered network scenario. It is found that there is a considerable effect of PUE attack on harvesting as well as on the network performance. Rewarded energy, channel capacity, and throughput are used to evaluate the network’s performance. |
