Zusammenfassung:Delay is not acceptable during the execution of construction projects but this still occurs during the implementation phase generally due to the miscommunication between the service provider, user, and other stakeholders. This study, therefore, combined prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) with preloading for a soil improvement project to ensure short soil settlement time and to also reduce the time for soil consolidation. Soil settlement analysis was conducted to discover the land surface parameters using cone penetration test (CPT) correlation data after which the land improvement was analyzed. Moreover, settlement time was obtained using analysis based on Hansbo Theory and this was followed by the simulation of the delay to determine the impact of the land improvement project. The result showed the settlement delay was U > 90% with each square installment pattern having U = 98% and the triangle installment was U = 98%. This means the delay of the project scheduling caused a setback in the working progress and this further led to a loss of financial benefit in the construction project.
