Zusammenfassung:This study presented a modern technique for determining the ABO and Rh systems of the blood group typing and cross-matching tests by enhancing the agglutination of red blood cells using the acousto-optical technique and monitoring the effect by high-resolution microscope digital camera. The captured digital image analyzed by MATLAB software; by applying a sequence of several mask algorithms image started with a grayscale filter and end with canny edge detection to count the different color pixels. The experimental result showed that it is possible to enhance, regulate, and accelerate the determination of ABO blood group typing by using the acousto-optical effect at the following parameters; frequency of 2.6 MHz from the vertical ultrasonic transducer that supplied by an alternative voltage of 12 V for 90 sec exposure time. The experimental result has shown that it is possible to determine blood group typing by using the acousto-optical technique in a short time and high efficiency compared with the traditional technique, which gives a dependent result of the primary agglutination within 4 to 5 min. When comparing the result with those in traditional technique. It takes more than 6 min, this confirms the efficiency of the acousto-optical effect in this study work.
