Zusammenfassung:Benzothiazole (BTH), a ubiquitous contaminant, was degraded by the solar photo-Fenton process using a solar reactor with a cylindrical-parabolic solar collector and by a classical photo-Fenton system with UV irradiation lamps. The studies were carried out in triple-distilled water and synthetic freshwater. Due to the low solubility of BTH, a β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) medium was used in some experiments. BTH formed an association complex with β-CD, increasing the solubility of BTH. The use of β-CD offers an environmentally friendly way to solubilize and degrade BTH by the solar photo-Fenton process. Benzothiazole (BTH), a ubiquitous contaminant, was degraded by the solar photo-Fenton process using a solar reactor with a cylindrical-parabolic solar collector and by a classical photo-Fenton system with UV irradiation lamps.
