) and aerosol (PM2.5) caused by wildfires has been analyzed for the large Russian regions over a 20-year period (from 2001 to 2020) on the basis of satellite monitoring. A decreasing trend in wildfire areas for the Russian Federation as a whole and for the European part of Russia and the Ural Federal District in particular is revealed for the periods of 2009–2020 and 2012–2020, respectively. It has been established that the contribution of the Siberian Federal District to the total СО, СО
2
, and PM2.5 emissions due to wildfires has been predominant since 2011. It has also been revealed that in 2020 the volume of emissions associated with the wildfires in the Far East Federal district exceeded 55% of the total emissions in Russia. |
