Zusammenfassung: | The paper demonstrates the implementation of polarization rotation–based optical switch using GaA-based race-track-shaped ring resonator (RR). The suitable nature of the input polarized light and the high intensity pump source are capable to convert the output state of polarized light in the proposed device. The polarization rotation from vertically polarized light to horizontally polarized light (V-H) and vice versa are observed at the wavelength of 1553.49 nm. The proposed polarization rotation scheme is validated by the Jones matrix and Stokes parameters of the electric field using Lumerical INTERCONNECT software. The device exhibits a high value of free spectral range (FSR) of nearly 10.27 nm. The results obtained from the numerical simulation confirmed our proposed model. The proposed scheme has potential application in realizing complex logic functions as the depletion of signal intensity in polarization based optical switch is smaller than intensity-based optical switch. |
