CHARACTERIZATION OF Erwinia amylovora L. ISOLATES CAUSING FIRE BLIGHT DISEASE BY RAPD-PCR AND SDS-PAGE

Zusammenfassung:In this study, biochemically diagnosed Erwinia amylovora L. isolates obtained from diseased parts of pear, apple, quince, medlar, loquat and other rosaceae plants in different regions of Turkey were characterised by RAPD-PCR and SDS-PAGE. In the study, the isolates were tested with six different primers of 10 mer. Among these primers, primer CUGEA-1 (5'-TCGCCAGCGA-3') was the most useful to reveal the characterization of E. amylovora L. isolates, as it formed 13 RAPD DNA fragments compared to the five primers. Moreover, no significant difference was detected in terms of electrophoretic characterization of cell proteins by SDS -PAGE method. Characterization of fire blight pathogen will contribute significantly to the control options of the pathogen.
