Zusammenfassung: | Cobalt Ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanowires of different aspect ratio have been synthesized by using a hydrothermal method in presence of an external magnetic field. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) studies show that the nanowires formed have the diameters in the range of 28-38 nm with their length varying between 0.55-1.50 μm. High Resolution TEM (HRTEM) studies indicate the growth of nanowires along [100]. The synthesized samples show high coercivity (Hc) and low saturation magnetization (Ms) at room temperature. Mössbauer studies have carried out to reveal the site occupancy of the ions in the samples. The effect of the strength of the magnetic field on the size and shape of the samples have also discussed. |
