Zusammenfassung:Introduction of automatic mooring devices is one of the state measures in PORT2030, the medium – long term policy of Japanese ports, and expected to improve efficiency and safety of cargo handling works. However, there have been no cases of introducing the devices on public quays in Japan, and no reports on the effect and evaluation of introducing the devices. In this study, we verified the effectiveness of the devices on ship motions by numerical simulation for a ship in Tsuruga Port, where the development of high-standard unit load terminals is underway, and confirmed that the devices can reduce horizontal components of ship motions (Surge, Sway and Yaw) to a greater extent than mooring lines. In addition, we made a preliminary calculation of the number of the devices required for ensuring the operating rate of the ship against waves and the mooring force against wind load, and proposed the examination methods for the number of the devices required.
