Zusammenfassung:Aiming to achieve both social infrastructure development and the environment, we tried to create a mechanism to incorporate coral proliferation into port maintenance and function enhancement projects. We developed concrete base on which broken coral branches can be easily attached. It was suggested that that coral survival could be promoted by mixing aspartic acid. A block with broken coral branches was used for breakwater construction, and subsequent monitoring surveys confirmed that the coral was growing steadily. It has been confirmed that (1) it is possible to achieve a balance between social infrastructure development and the environment, (2) coral regeneration can be established as a paid business rather than as a volunteer, and (3) synergistic effects may be derived for the local fisheries and tourism industries.
