Catalysts for the Direct Synthesis of Organotin Compounds, Part 1: Reactions between Organohalides and Tin Alloys

This review is the first part of a series of reviews devoted to the direct synthesis of organotin compounds. The conditions for and results from the reaction between tin alloys and organohalides are considered. The efficiency of catalysts and the prospects for using tin alloys in the synthesis of organotin compounds are analyzed, and some possible mechanisms of these processes are discussed.
