Effects of graded levels of Adansonia digitata leaves on semen quality in Red Sokoto bucks

This study was designed to determine the effects of graded levels of Adansonia digitata leaves on semen quality in Red Sokoto bucks (RSB). Twenty RSB were randomly assigned into four groups comprising 5 RSB each. Groups A, B, C, and D were given 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% of A. digitata leave powder, respectively, for 14 weeks. Semen was collected every 2 weeks and evaluated for semen volume, sperm cell motility, semen pH, percentage sperm abnormalities, sperm livability, semen concentration, colour, and consistency. There were no significant ( p > 0.05) differences in semen volume, pH, and sperm livability between bucks fed A. digitata leaves and those in the control group throughout the study.
