Zusammenfassung: | Water flow in the Don R. delta is described by a system of Saint-Venant equations written in the characteristic form. The calculation domain is represented as a graph with edges corresponding to channel segments and nodes corresponding to branching points. The problem was solved by finite-difference methods with equations approximated by implicit schemes. The simulated water discharges and flow velocities in major Don delta branches were compared with observation data and showed the adequacy of the model. The model was used to reproduce the pattern of flows in the branches which was observed in the period from September 13 to 15, 2016. |
