Zusammenfassung: | Cold spray coating deposition was modelled using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The bonding state of inter-splat boundary is characterized by its interface temperature (0.5Tm). The bonded and unbonded fractions of inter-splat boundaries based on the rise in temperature at deposited interfaces were used to correlate with electrical conductivity, elastic modulus and corrosion resistance of the coatings. The flow stress and plastic strain were used to correlate the hardness of the coatings. The fraction of inter-splat bonding is corroborated with a non-dimensional parameter which accounts the temperature and velocity of the impacting powders. A comprehensive approach was made to correlate the functional properties of the coatings with the process tailoring thus allows the user to obtain coatings for specific applications. |
