Zusammenfassung:Compounds destroying the endocrine system are a dangerous class of pollutants that are found in aquatic environments such as surface, groundwater and sewage and landfills. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a known endocrine disruptor that is acutely toxic to living organisms. BPA is still used in the manufacture of sunscreen lotions, nail polishes, body cleansers, shaving creams and lotions, in addition to its long-known other industrial applications. The paper presents the results of studies on the photolysis of BPA from water using ultraviolet radiation and an oxidizing agent.
