L), are synthesized and characterized. The complexes are characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis spectra, molar conductivity, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray analysis indicates that the Zn atoms in complex

are in tetrahedral and square pyramidal coordinations, and the Cu atom in complex
2
is in a tetrahedral distorted square planar coordination. In the crystal structures of the complexes, molecules are stacked through π⋯π interactions. The complexes are assayed for antibacterial activities against three gram-positive bacterial strains (
E. cloacae

, and
St. faecalis
) and three gram-negative bacterial strains (
St. faecalis

P. aeruginosa
