Zusammenfassung: | The surface quality of the acetabular reaming during total hip replacement is an important factor affecting the initial stability and bone ingrowth of the acetabular prosthesis. Two parameters – the unresectioned maximum height hl and area A of cross-sectional area – are defined to evaluate the surface quality of acetabular reaming, an analytical model of the surface quality is proposed based the these two parameters for acetabular reaming, the influence of the various structural parameters of the acetabular reamer on the surface quality is studied based on the analytical model, and an acetabular reamer with new structural parameters is proposed based on the investigation, and manufactured with 3D printing technology, and verified with experiments. The results show that the predicted results of the proposed analytical model of surface quality of acetabular reaming are consistent with the experimental results. The predicted error of the maximum height is less than 4.4%, and the predicted error of the unresectioned area is less than 6.2%. The quantity, tooth profile and arrangement of the cutting teeth have a significant impact on the surface quality. The surface quality of acetabular reaming can be improved effectively by the acetabular reamer with new structural parameters, and the initial stability and bone ingrowth of the acetabular prosthesis can be enhanced, and the early fixation failure of the acetabular prosthesis can be avoided and the quality of surgery can be improved correspondingly. |
