Zusammenfassung:The review covers the state of the art in methods of synthesis of acyclic geminal bis-peroxides, including bis-hydroperoxides, bis(1-hydroperoxyalkyl) peroxides, and 1-hydroperoxyalkyl 1-hydroxyalkyl peroxides. Most attention has been paid to the literature since 2000. This period of time is characterized by studies of mechanisms of formation of peroxides and hence by the development of effective and scalable procedures for the synthesis of acyclic geminal bis-peroxides via reactions of carbonyl compounds, ketals, and enol ethers with hydrogen peroxide and hydroperoxides in media that are uncommon for this field of chemistry. These procedures made it possible to extend the scope of application of acyclic geminal bis-peroxides in materials chemistry as initiators of radical polymerization and cross-linking.
