Zusammenfassung:Objectives: Cardiac Scoring, which is also known as Heart Scan, or Calcium Score, is a non-invasive CT scan of the heart. It will calculate your risk of developing Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) by measuring the amount of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pneumonecdtomy on coronary calcium scores which is reported studied in the literature. Methods: The records of the patients who underwent pneumonectomy due to non-small cell lung cancer between 2010 and 2015 were analysed. The sex, age, site of the tumor, cardiac histories of the patients were recorded. The computerized tomographies (CT) of the chest were evaluated by a thoracic radiologist experienced in chest radiology before and after pneumonectomy. The coronary calcium scores of each patient was calculated both before and after pneumonectomy. The scores were compared by paired sample t test by SPSS version 22. Results: The coronary calcium scores were 27, 39 before pneumonectomy and 31, 75 after pneumonectomy. The difference was significant (p=0.001). Conclusion: Pneumonectomy significantly affected the coronary calcium scores. After completion of the study advanced studies would be recommended after pneumonectomy.
