Zusammenfassung:Periodate ion (IO4−), as a high-value-added chemical reagent, could be produced photoelectrochemically on a WO3 photoanode in NaIO3 aqueous solution under simulated solar light irradiation. The faradaic efficiency to IO4− (FE(IO4−)) reached 82% in 0.1 M NaIO3 aqueous solution. The FE (IO4−) was greatly affected by the concentration of alkaline cation as well as IO3− ion.
