Zusammenfassung:All medical records with a histological diagnosis of Odontogenic Cysts were included. Demographic data such as gender and age, location of cysts, tentative clinical diagnosis and histopathological findings was collected in a checklist, then analyzed with a SPSS software 21. Keywords: prevalence, odontogenic, jaw cysts, clinical diagnosis, histopathologic diagnosis. 1.INTRODUCTION The intra-osseous pathologic cysts in jaws comprise a wide range of lesions, from totally benign or locally invasive to frankly malignant ones; each of which mandates a different treatment modality [1]. Odontogenic cysts are quite prevalent in the maxillofacial area; they are also specific pathologic entities. Since no such survey had been conducted on this issue in Kerman (SouthEast of Iran), that is representing all samples of the province, the present study was designed to analyze the clinicopathological findings, as well as the age, sex and site-specific distribution of these cysts. 2.MATERIALS AND METHODS The biopsies and histopathological records were obtained from the archives of the Departments of Pathology in both the Faculty of Dentistry and Bahonar Medical Complex Hospital (Kerman, South -Eastern of Iran).
