LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL VALIDATION OF THE ROMANIAN VERSION OF THE REVISED DENTAL BELIEFS SURVEY

Psychometric scales, among the most frequently used to identify dental anxiety, are very helpful to both dentist and patient, because evaluation of patient's dental anxiety, his/ her expectations and perceptions regarding the quality of dental services influence the treatment plan and the pattern of dental appointments [6-10]. To evaluate patients' perception regarding the dental care setting, an instrument - Dental Belief Survey - has been developed by Getz and collaborators [1,2], starting from the idea that the dental beliefs of patients predict the treatment outcome and influence dental fear [1]. A study performed on American adults, exploring the factorial structure of DBS-R [12] observed that factor analysis of data suggests a 4 th dimension covered by the questionnaire, namely Trust.
