Zusammenfassung:Valuing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) means creating a workplace that respects and embraces differences, recognizes the unique contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds, and creates an environment that maximizes the potential of all employees. DEI are no longer optional - they are a business and human imperative - and Mayo Clinic is taking intentional steps to embed the principles of DEI within its culture. In Jul 2020, Mayo Clinic renewed its commitment to DEI through a symbolic event on the Mayo Clinic Rochester campus. The Plummer Building's bronze doors - weighing in at 4,000 pounds and are always open except to mark historically significant occasions - were closed for only the 11th time in the last 92 years. ME&C hopes that its ongoing journey related to creating and sustaining an intentional DEI culture will help others as they strive to eliminate racism and embrace DEI at various levels in their organization and in the broader community.
