Zusammenfassung: | Symptoms of depression are sad mood, feeling of hopelessness and/or guilt, lack of interest, reduced strength, attention difficulty, slumbering trouble, appetite loss, suicidal mind or attempts, restlessness, persistent physical symptoms, and so on. [...]as per the previous literature, W. fruticosa flowers shown significant antioxidant activity by different standard model, namely, ABT and l,l-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl free radical scavenging models in petroleum ether, chloroform, and methanol extracts. Group I (control group) was treated with saline, Group II (standard group) is treated with imipramine 10 mg/kg, Groups (test groups) III and IV have been administered two different doses of EWF 100 and 250 mg/ kg/orally, and Group V is treated with combination (EWF 100 mg/kg+5 mg/kg of imipramine), respectively, which had been administered up to 14 days [Table 1]. RESULTS Preliminary and Phytochemical Screening On preliminary phytochemical evaluation, EWF showed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, and carbohydrates [Table 2], Acute Oral Toxicity Study After oral administration of extracts as per the preferred technique as according to the OECD, no abnormal clinical symptoms or treatment-related deaths determined within the examined animals at a dose of 2000 mg/kg EWF of the extracts. |
