Zusammenfassung:Many-year data have been used to construct the spatial distributions of water salinity and calculate the seasonal and normal annual occurrence areas of transformed river waters in the northwestern Black Sea. Normal annual estimates of the major phosphate inflow and outflow fluxes have been obtained for the area of such water occurrence. The eutrophic status of water in this area has been shown to be governed by both external and internal phosphorus fluxes. The input of phosphates from external sources into the northwestern part of the sea, including their export flux from it into the open part of the sea has been found to have no significant effect on the normal annual primary production in the pelagic part of the Black Sea.
