ANARCHIST COUNTER-DISCOURSES. A CONTRIBUTION TO THE ANALYSIS OF THE URBAN COUNTERPUBLICS

The basic categories of the article are the concepts of counter-public sphere and counterpublics. The article has theoretical-empirical character. It offers the analysis in terms of conceptual history as well as the investigation on "anarchist urban movements" with particular emphasis put on specific types of discursive and self-organization practices necessary for the construction and reproduction of anarchist counterpublics. The counter-discourses present in selected anarchist press publications, with particular emphasis on "Przegląd Anarchistyczny" ["Anarchist Review"], were subjected to a detailed study.
