Zusammenfassung: | The purpose of this research was to depict the mathematical skill of high-school 1 Jeruklegi, 7
th
-grade students, who have been examined by their teaching in Cilacap Indonesia. This research was a descriptive qualitative analysis. The outcomes of self-directed learning problems, tests on mathematical problem resolution, and interviews collected the data from this research. The data use a method of triangulation. Students were divided into three classes based on the questionnaire’s findings, namely students in the high, medium, and low self-directed learning categories. A purposive sampling technique was used to determine the research subjects. Data from the test and interview were used to identify the mathematical problem-solving abilities of the students. The results of this study show that students with the high self-directed learning group were able to fulfill the indicators of understanding the problem, compile a solution plan, do calculations according to the plan, and check the results obtained. However, the respondents were only able to fulfill the indicators of understanding the problem in the medium self-directed learning category, compile a plan for completion, and do calculations according to the plan. Meanwhile, in the low self-directed learning category, respondents were capable of following the standards to complete the steps to understand the issue and formulate a response plan |
