Zusammenfassung:Thermochemical transformations of potential precursors for nanoparticles of Mn, Cr, and V in the wave of flameless combustion (smoldering) of RDX in ballasted systems were explored. No full reduction to a metallic state was detected. In the wave of flameless combustion, manganese carbonate was found to yield manganese(II) oxide with a particle size of 0.1–0.5 μm; ammonium dichromate, chromium(III) oxide with a particle size of 0.2–0.3 μm; while ammonium vanadate, vanadium(III) oxide in the form of platelets 20–30 nm thick and 0.5–1.0 μm in size at a specific surface of 18.6 m 2 /g.
