Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Zen and Psychotherapy: Partners in Liberation edited by Joseph Bobrow (2020). In this edited book, Bobrow makes a lot of sense of Zen, of psycho analysis, of their similarities and differences, and of how they can cross-fertilize and enrich the other. He also does what a Zen teacher should—he offers us occasional portals to deeper insights and creates opportunities of satori. One could consider these different levels of teaching, both of which are useful. However, they also must not be conflated otherwise liberation is made concrete and its deeper aim will likely be lost and so with it an open window into the heart of Zen and all spiritual traditions.
