Zusammenfassung: | The structures and geological history of the shelf of the East Siberian continental margin are considered on the basis of the interpretation of seismic data along with geological data. The main structural constituents of the East Siberian Sea that were formed under the Barremian–Aptian rifting processes are described: the New Siberian rift; the Mansky, North Melville, and Drumhead rifts in the north of the East Siberian Basin; as well as the Melville depression in the south. The rifts are considered in combination with volcanic zones and the main elevations (De Long, Wrangell, Kotelnich, and Baranov). It is assumed that the rifting thinned the crust of the Podvodnikov Basin to form a large midland sedimentary basin. |
