Zusammenfassung:A computational model describing the origin of a cohesive crack in the brake drum of a vehicle under the action of temperature stresses during braking is developed. The interaction of faces of the zone of weakened interparticle bonds of the material is modeled by introducing cohesive forces between them. Relations are found to determine the critical value of the thermal effect intensity, at which a cohesive crack emerges in the brake drum.
