Zusammenfassung:The possibility of direct etherification of a single primary hydroxy group of β-cyclodextrin with a series of alcohols and diols has been demonstrated. In the reactions with diols, dimeric β-cyclodextrin could be obtained, which are interesting from the practical viewpoint. The structure of the isolated compounds has been confirmed by 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra.
