Crew's Suffragist Sheet Music: An Illustrated Catalogue of Published Music Associated with the Women's Rights and Suffrage Movement in America, 1795–1921, with Complete Lyrics as a guide, the LOC Music Division has digitized sheet music that presents contrasting views of women's suffrage and provides insight into the tumultuous social climate leading up to the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment.2 The collection is valuable to scholars and teachers of both American music and history who are interested in providing a comprehensive picture of the suffragist movement, particularly in the centennial year of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment. Before the launch of this collection, digital collections dedicated solely to suffrage music did not exist.
