COVO RECICLADO: MODELO DE ARMADILHA DE PESCA PARA MINIMIZAR OS CONFLITOS ENTRE AS LONTRAS E OS PESCADORES

[...]this is the study focuses on the conflict between Lontra longicaudis (Olfers, 1818 - Order: Carnivora; Family: Mustelidae; Subfamily: Lutrinae) and the fishermen communities in the APA Bonfim Guaraira, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Five communities that carry out fishing activities with artisanal caves were interviewed in different municipalities. The used creels, which are periodically being broken by the otter, were made with materials from the native vegetation. [...]the objective of this work was to introduce a solution to improve fishermen's equipment (creels) using recycling PVC pipes. Despite the constant persecution in the region, it can be seen that the majority of fishermen thinks in an ecological way, understanding that otters, like themselves, also depend on shrimp, fish and the river to survive.
