Zusammenfassung: | The concept of 'evaluation' in narrative has been addressed in multiple studies since the seminal work by Labov & Waletzky (1967) and Labov (1972). Presently, the studies that explore evaluation, try to determine social variation and/or to account for pragmatic functions in oral narratives of personal experience. This note is not only a critical review of the treatment that the concept of narrative 'evaluation' has received in linguistics, but it also proposes an outline of a classification for its study, which includes non-verbal communication. |
