Zusammenfassung:The necessity to study the mechanisms of 90 Sr behavior in ecosystems is conditioned by the radioactive contamination of the environment due to global fallout as a result of nuclear weapon tests, as well as incidents and accidents at radiation-hazardous facilities. The basic regularities of radionuclide behavior in soils and in the soil–agricultural plants system are described. The role of various factors affecting radionuclide migration in ecosystems is assessed. The key characteristics required for the parameterization of migration mathematical models used for predicting the radionuclide uptake by plants are presented.
