Lives Interrupted

The 55-word story I am submitting for publication centers on the speaker's (mother's) experience of hearing her daughter story the trauma (rape) she experienced. This topic is a crucial one, especially in an era such as ours in which the #MeToo movement has gained pivotal recognition and has furthered human beings' natural rights to have their voices be heard and honored. It is also unique because not often do we hear the perspectives of parents who have experienced secondary traumatizing.
