The magnetocaloric properties of Gd powder prepared by ball milling were studied in order to optimize their magnetic field dependence. Nanostructuring of gadolinium powder leads to a distribution of the Curie temperatures. The peak magnetic entropy change follows a power law with exponent close to 0.89 near the transition temperature. |
