Influence of the densities of neighboring individuals and size of object trees on the basal area growth of Acer palmatum Thunb. in Tadasu-No-Mori Forest, Shimogamo-Jinja shrine
Basal area growth values of Acer palmatum were obtained during three periods (1991-2002, 2002-2010, and 2010-2018) from Tadasu-No-Mori forest, from measurements of trees of ≥ 10 cm. The relationship between the basal area growth of A. palmatum, object tree size, and density of neighboring trees was...

Zusammenfassung: | Basal area growth values of Acer palmatum were obtained during three periods (1991-2002, 2002-2010, and 2010-2018) from Tadasu-No-Mori forest, from measurements of trees of ≥ 10 cm. The relationship between the basal area growth of A. palmatum, object tree size, and density of neighboring trees was examined. In prediction models using basal area growth rate as the objective variable, the sum of basal areas of neighboring trees (1991-2002) and the sum of relative ratio of basal area of neighboring trees and the object tree (2002-2010, 2010-2018) were selected as explanatory variables. Under the same conditions, for object trees size and density of neighboring trees, the basal area relative growth rate of A. palmatum tended to be lower in 2010-2018 than in 1991-2002. |
