Zusammenfassung:More than 65% of Russian and 18% of world gas reserves are concentrated on the territory of the Yamalo-Ne-nets Autonomous Okrug. A geological information system for the territory of the Purovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug was constructed using satellite Landsat 8 and Sentinel-2 imagery, the https://gis.sobr.geosys.ru/information resource, and surface studies. The main unfavorable factors were revealed that adversely affected the state of the environment in the Purovsky district because of the oil production and transportation. Using Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2 images, 53 flare units for the flaring of associated petroleum gas on a total area of 108.6 thousand km2 were detected. Based on data of ground studies, a GIS of oil-contaminated lands has been constructed.
