Migration als Chance statt als Problem - Friedenslogik und kommunale Integrationspolitik

Local integration policies provide alternatives to the German federal policy towards refugees which puts emphasis on security concerns. A theoretical conception of the former following the logic of peace includes the proactive handling of uncertainties and a differentiated, inclusive design. It perceives migration as a chance and aims to improve the opportunities to participate for all inhabitants. It strives to strengthen the population’s intercultural openness and to organize integration processes with civil society and refugees alike. Respect for human dignity constitutes its central orientation point. In the observation of integration processes, it adopts an extended perspective.
