Salmon on the Table

Gifford talks about salmon. Cermaq is certainly doing its part to meet the demand, producing, by its own admission, around 180,000 metric tons of farmed salmon even, year, a product many endorse with their palates and pocketbooks. But in doing so, customers are supporting the specter of industrial aquaculture in some of out planet's most cherished spaces, the wilderness areas, and perhaps jeopardizing wild salmon in the process. This is a fish of tremendous ecological significance and one that's central to many First Nations cultures. It is also a delight on the table.
