Zusammenfassung:Mg-doped alumina ceramics were synthesized at different parameters. Pulsed cathode- and photoluminescence spectra have been measured to evaluate the effect defects on luminescence. Doping of magnesium leads to forming a new luminescence band in pulsed cathodoluminescence spectra with the maximum at 518 nm, which associated with ether luminescence centers Mg2+ of spinel or F22+ aggregate centers of the alumina initial matrix. During annealing under vacuum at temperatures higher than 1500 °C a wide luminescence band with the maximum at 640 nm is observed for Mg-doped alumina ceramics.
