(Coleóptera: Buprestidae) attacks primarily stone fruit trees from Rosaceae and other nurseries from Salicaeae, Anacardinaceae, Polygonaceae in several Mediterranean countries and also Turkey (Rivnay, 1944; Lodos and Tezcan, 1995; Tezcan, 1995; Colasurdo et al., 1997; Ak and Çam, 1998; Ulusoy et al., 1999; Öztürk and Ulusoy, 2003; Sakalian, 2003; Vit, 2004; Ertop and Özpınar, 2010). Emerged larvae crawl through the soil using chemical cues to locate host hypogeal organs (Rivnay, 1945) and they begin to eat cambium and sapwood (Lodos and Tezcan, 1995; Zobar, 2018). Visual searching, beating and trapping methods were used to determine the population density of C. tenebrionis.
