Zusammenfassung:The reaction of N -amino-1,10-phenanthrolinium mesitylenesulfonate with acceptor-substituted alkenes in the K 2 CO 3 –DMSO system gave 3- and 2,3-substituted pyrazolo[1,5- a ][1,10]phenanthrolines. A wide range of alkenes enter into this reaction; however, in the case of nitro derivatives, complex mixtures of products were formed.
