Zusammenfassung: | [...]with his sincere desire to advance medical services to the poor and struggling population of India, his enthusiasm to teach and share knowledge, his constant drive to learn from the others, his relentless energy and enthusiasm, along with his down to earth personality, and genuine respect for fellow human beings, Bhandarkar was soon able to forge synergistic academic and clinical collaborations with other “giants” of GS/KEM. Bhandarkar was a co-author of R S Satoskar’s Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics book with its inaugural first edition in 1968; and remained on the editorial board until 2017 when he retired and saw the book in its 25th edition as a “must have” for every medical student in India. Professor emeritus Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College and head Department of Endocrinology, King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India (b 1931; q University of Bombay, India, 1954; MD, FRCP) died after a brief illness related to his advanced age on 25 July 2020 This obituary was submitted on behalf of the GS/KEM alumni. |
