The Effect of Ammonium Chloride on the Structure of Hydroxyapatite Nanoparticles and the Proliferative Activity of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

Synthetic hydroxyapatite nanoparticles that contain ammonium chloride crystals are obtained. The X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and BET methods show that ammonium chloride crystals are decomposed in argon in the temperature range of T = 220–270°C. Zusammenfassung:Synthetic hydroxyapatite nanoparticles that contain ammonium chloride crystals are obtained. The X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and BET methods show that ammonium chloride crystals are decomposed in argon in the temperature range of T = 220–270°C. The heat treatment at T = 300°C gives thermal stability to the nanoparticles. The presence of ammonium chloride in the culture medium has a substantial effect on the biocompatibility of nanoparticles. An increase in its content reduces the proliferative activity of mesenchymal stromal cells.
