Zusammenfassung:Conclusion: The management of diabetes induced with alloxan in rats treated with aqueous leaf extract of MC reduced the chance of chronic renal failure, hyperlipidemia, liver disease, and excessive gain in body weight. Alloxan is capable of producing fatal hypoglycemia due to increase pancreatic insulin release. [...]20% glucose solution was administered orally after 6 h. Further hypoglycemic condition was prevented by oral administration of 5% glucose solution through their water bottle. Fasting Blood Glucose Determination Blood samples of overnight fasted rats were collected by cutting the tail-tip of the rats. Biochemical parameter determined were serum albumin, blood urea nitrogen, bilirubin, creatinine, and liver enzyme such as aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT).
