Taxonomic studies on leafy liverworts and mosses from Ernakulam district, Kerala, India

In the present work, taxonomic studies on leafy liverworts and Bryopsida from Ernakulam district was carried out. Among the 28 bryophytes identified, 11 of them belongs to leafy liverworts and the rest belongs to mosses. Members belonging to Fossombroniaceae, Jungermanniaceae, Cephaloziellaceae and Lejeuneaceae were identified from leafy liverworts. Members belonging to Neckeraceae, Pottiaceae, Hypnaceae, Leucobryaceae, Calymperaceae, Fissidentaceae, Bryaceae, Batramiaceae, Sematophyllaceae, Funariaceae, Dicranaceae, Splachnaceae, and Mniaceae were identified from mosses.
