Zusammenfassung:This paper investigates the effect of a nodular segment, commonly found in nodular piles, on the dynamic response of a vertical vibrating tubular pile. A developed model of a tubular pile, discretized by variable sections and pile–surrounding soil layers, is established to analyze the pile dynamic response. The components of a nodular segment are then discussed independently, while the accuracy of the developed solution is verified using finite element analysis and a low-strain test on site. The validated solution is employed to conduct a parametric study of a nodular segment under the condition of the low-strain test. Some conclusions derived from this study are utilized to provide practical guidance for engineering practice.
